  1. The way night vision goggles work is very simple. Humans are physiologically incapable of seeing clearly at night and this is affected by the action of photoreceptors in their retina called rods and cones. Cones are meant for people to see in daylight and allow them to appreciate colors and movements. But when the sun goes down, rods take over. Unlike cones, rods have little capacity to differentiate between colors and they practically make people less capable of detecting movement, unless it is heard. But with nigh vision goggles, this problem of low night visibility is solved. The goggles may not give a user a full color view of what is happening in all that darkness, but they can sure make one see things and observe movements.

  2. Depending on light conditions at night binoculars perform differently. You will not see anything if there is no single star in the sky and no street lights. The lower the light situation is, the more powerful night binocular you will need. You can get Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 night binoculars. Gen stands for generation. Gen 1 are all right during a night with full moon and bright stars. For a crescent moon Gen 2 works better, and for a dark cloudy night you will need Gen 3 binoculars. Generation 1 night binoculars are affordable, Gen 2 and Gen 3 binoculars are much more expensive. Find varieties of binoculars at night vision binoculars.
